We took out the existing finishes, and converted the doorway to accommodate a pocket door that was the wider dimensions required by ADA standards. We also lowered the level of the sub-floor in order to remove the existing threshold.
The client chose a white subway tile with a blue accent tile for her shower, and rather than tiling the floor we installed a white slip resistant epoxy floor that tied in perfectly with the color scheme created with the tile.
With finishing touches like a custom above toilet storage cabinet, we were able to create a light, airy bathroom that felt much larger than the standard 1950’s bathroom, and much more personal than the standard ADA bathroom remodel.
